The Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) of tariff nomenclature is an internationally standardized system of names and numbers for classifying traded products. More than 200 countries, customs and economic unions, representing more than 98% of world trade, use the HS as a basis for customs tariffs.

Different HS codes means different import customs tariffs. Digital photo frame importers need to know that the Harmonized Code(HS code) is related with LCD aspect ratio of the digital photo frames to buy. That's to say, different digital photo frames have different customs tariff --the duty tax, if only the LCD aspect ratio is not the same. 

The LCD aspect ratios can be 1:1,5:4,4:3,16:9,16:10.

While the HS code for 16:10 as well as 1:1,5:4,4:3 is 85285990 40, and for 16:9 and other aspect ratio LCD digital photo frames, the HS code is 85285990 90.

For most of European countries, HS code(16:10 LCD, 85285990 40) applies for 0% customs tariffs, while 85285990 90 (16:9 and others) applies for 14% import duty tax.
